Cruising on the Spirit this Friday (6/5).........

My wife and I are taking our first cruise ever - departing from Boston this coming Friday (6/5) on the Spirit to Bermuda. Anyone else out there on this cruise? Also, weather.com is not painting a very good picture of the weather for the days in Bermuda - I am hoping it is not going to rain as much as they say it will.

Don't let the weather report give you a sense of foreboding...having been to Bermuda three times before and looking forward to our fourth this coming September, we've learned that a cloudy day in Bermuda means there might be a couple white cumulus clouds in a sky that we in the Northeast would refer to a "sunny" day. "Cloudy" in Bermuda IS NOT a gray and overcast day! When it comes to a rainy forecast, Bermuda rain sweeps off the ocean rather quickly...maybe lasting 1/2 hour...definitely not the day-long rain we experience here at home!

 

Enjoy your cruise and try not to worry about the weather...we've been to Bermuda in May and July, and if we experienced any rain it was welcomed as a refreshing spritz of water that cooled us off a bit! Now we look forward to our Bermuda experience in September!

Hi,

As others have said don't worry about the weather. We just returned from the 5/29 sailing and the long range forecast also called for rain/showers every day. We had great weather, mostly sunny, hot with a few clouds and very few showers. Enjoy your trip, the Spirit and Bermuda are great.
