lee1977 Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Taking the family on our first cruise next week around the Med on the Oceana. Thanks to this site and a couple of others I have put together a decent itinerary, however I have just realised we dont have any insurance booked. Can I pick up any normal travel insurance on the net or does it have to be a multi trip policy? Sorry if this is a silly question. Its all new to me. Thanks
Noblemount Posted June 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Normal travel Insurance is adequate. But I recommend you get insurance asap.Medical Treatment on board can be very expensive. You would be looking at £500 for a couple of hours treatment. We found M&S to be very good . ;)
Norfolk Brit Posted June 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Unless your circumstances are completely straightforward, I would do it by telephone and not online. Don't forget to mention any existing/previous medical conditions concerning the party members, AND anyone upon whom the holiday is dependent (eg parents/offspring/grandparents). Check they are aware you are on a cruise holiday, and that you are covered for medivac. I do hope this isn't necessary:eek:. Mary
tom_uk Posted June 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Have you got an EHIC card? - look here to find out about it. It's not a substitute for medical insurance, but it's a start when travelling within Europe.
