How Long Does It Take To Get From The Pier To Cockleshell Beach?

I was just wondering how long a taxi ride from the pier to the beach would be.....

 

While I am asking, what would the cost be for a taxi? For two people.

From Port Zante to Cockleshell is about 20 minutes. The cost is approximately $26 USD per car.

I have another question for you, which beach would you reccomend if we have just a few hours in Saint Kitts?

I am looking for a beach that is lovely (of course....!!!;)). It would be GREAT if it had gentle waves, not to rough, some shade or the ability to rent a chair and an umbrella, if the water was crystal clear and my DH could paddle around and snorkel that would be EVEN BETTER.....!!!

Which beach would you go to if you just had a few hours.....???

If I had a few hours in St. Kitts I would definitely go to Cockleshell Beach.

 

Nice sandy beach, breathtaking view of Nevis, gentle waves, you can rent chairs and umbrellas, snorkel equipment, kayaks and jet skiis at Reggae Beach Bar.

 

You can also enjoy delicious food and cocktails at three beach bars:

Approx. $26 USD TOTAL.

 

Yes, there are taxis at Port Zante on a regular basis when a ship is in port.

 

They will take you to the beach and pick you up when you are ready to return to board the ship.

We were at Cockleshell last Sat. I went by cost posted on this board. It is $26 one way for two for a total of $52. Try to find someone to share with. The beach is beautiful and great snorkeling. The ride was 25 min. and beautiful scenery. Our cab driver came back at appointed time to get us. We didn't pay him until the return.

Taxi rates are for 1-4 people sharing a taxi, the price goes up for more people.

We were there on 8/8, Victory. We got a taxi and paid 12.50 pp for roundtrip. FYI: Spicemill is a great place to eat.

We went to Cockleshell last week - the beach around Reggae Beach Bar was crowded and small - much nicer beach and facilities down the beach (worth the short walk) at Spice Mill, and the food, service and views were awesome. 25 minute ride, $26 O/W for 3 people.
