Any feedback on Skagway Musher's Sled Dog Camp?

If you are talking about the sled dog camp at Caribou Crossing, it's great! We visited there with Chilkoot Tours as part of the 7.5 hour White Pass/Yukon train excursion. There are puppies to pet and lots of sled dogs to see. The dog cart ride was a lot of fun and worth the extra money. Would love to go back there again.

We have done the Skagway Musher's Camp excursion offered by the ship and it was very good. Check out our review and pics at http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/sapphire2.html

We have also done the Dog Camp at Caribou Crossing and it is also great! If you plan to go into the Yukon, either by bus or rental car, we thoroughly recommend it. Check out our review and pics at http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/alaskaZ.html

Hi,

Just got back from our cruise with the Infinity to Alaska and thought I'd add our experience to this board.

Skagway – Helicopter and Dog Sledding; [ http://www.temscoair.com/ ]

We booked this through the ship. I’m not sure if you can book independently as I think they give priority to any cruise ships in port and they are the only helicopter company operating in Skagway that we could find. They also operate out of Juneau but to a different glacier camp (Mendenhall rather than Denver Glacier) as do other helicopter companies. Again we were lucky in that the sunny weather allowed the pilot to take the “scenic route” through the mountains to the glacier at 4200ft – wow! Only 6 plus pilot in the chopper and they position you by weight so you've no idea where you'll end up. I had a front seat and took a ton of pictures on the flight but Carolyn was a bit squashed into the back seat. The dog sledding was great fun and nobody fell off. Definitely very well worth the effort if you’ve never done it before even if it is quite expensive.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

T&C
