Reblecka Posted June 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Hello, I was wondering if you had already been on the cruise and decided what activity to do how it was. My mom and I will be in St. Petersberg in July and want to go to the ballet.

dinoman Posted June 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2009 We are not 'ballet-persons' so we go for the folkore show as we don't want to fall asleep in a ballet show after a day's trenuous tour :). From the information I've got the folklore show includes dancing, music and colourful costums, which suits us more. It depends on what your interest lies and either one could make a memorable evening.
misskitty123 Posted June 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2009 We did the ballet and loved it. And I'm not a ballet person normally, but for us it was totally worth it even not getting back to the ship the first night till 11:30 ish. The two days were tiring but doable.. barbh Posted June 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2009 A very good friend of mine danced with NYC ballet company. She advised me to go to the Folklore. She said even she would go to the Folklore. Her husband was invited years ago to St Petersburg to teach Argentine dancing . She said Folklore has it all .. dance, music, costumes. It's what they do best (In her humble opionion) .. AND it's a fraction of the cost of ballet She sold me. I wanted to go to the ballet but I am following her advice and going to the Fokllore show. (She also thought the Folklore would keep me awake but that I'd fall asleep at the ballet after a long and busy day). My friend? Eileen of Los Diablos Gauchos. They are currently performing on the Radiance but have been on Serenade and Vision. Barb
