Amber F Posted June 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2009 We did whale watching in Victoria, booked ourselves through shoretrips, had a great time, but wear sun screen, our faces got pretty burned. Do the Zodiac instead of the cruiser, it makes it an adventure. In Vancouver, we rented a car and went to Capilano Suspension Bridge and to Grouse Mountain. Grouse Mountain had some of the most spectacular views, as well as a lumberjack show, two grizzly bears in a habitat, and hiking trails. Have fun, the cities are so beautiful, you'll find something to do.
Amber F Posted June 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Oops, I forgot about Astoria. We didn't do any excursions here, but if you take the $5 shuttle to the end of the line, the Maritime Museum, you can walk across the street (Marine Dr.), turn left, and about a block down on the right is a movie theatre. You can check the showtimes online at Fandango, and if you are anything like us, you'll actually get to see a movie without having to find time to squeeze it in at home. Just make sure you check running times on the movies so you don't miss the ship. I heard one of the shuttle drivers say they really cut down on shuttles back to the ship at 8:30pm even though you don't need to be on board until 9:15pm. We caught the shuttle at 8:30pm, and i think it was one of the last ones.
