cathcruiser Posted December 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2004 What is best Beaches or Ruins? Can you get a taxi cab? What is the price? Do they have cars or vans for taxis? Can I get a english speaking guide. Catherine
CozSally Posted December 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2004 The best beach in Cozumel (in my opinion) is Paradise Beach. Cab fare from your pier will be $12-13 each way for up to 4 passengers. There are both cars and vans for taxis. The vans generally cost double the fare of a car plus $2, although it is sometimes negotiable. The best ruins in Cozumel are San Gervasio. The cab fare (round trip, waiting for you) is $45. They have English speaking guides at the ruins. Hope that helps!
cathcruiser Posted December 17, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted December 17, 2004 Thank you Sally.is it $45 each person? does it worth it? The beaches sounds great.it would be nice doing the beaches with my 5 year old. Cath :)
CozSally Posted December 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2004 The $45 is just the cab fare for up to 4 passengers, round trip. The entrance fee to San Gervasio is about $5 per person.

CozSally Posted December 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2004 Sure, cab fare to Paradise Beach is $12-13 for up to four passengers, depending on where you dock. Mileage is about 5 miles from Puerta Maya and International piers, 9 miles from Punta Langosta.

CozSally Posted December 27, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2004 The Glory generally docks at Puerta Maya, a $12 taxi ride to Paradise Beach. February temps are generally in the low to mid 80's during the day, mid 70's at night.

CozSally Posted January 17, 2005 #11 Share Posted January 17, 2005 PB is a great place for lunch and they do not add a surcharge for credit card purchases.
Nonesuch Posted March 1, 2005 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2005 The $45 is just the cab fare for up to 4 passengers, round trip. The entrance fee to San Gervasio is about $5 per person. Thanks. I really wanted to see some Mayan architecture, but when all the literature for San Gervasio starts out with the word "unimpressive", it loses it's allure. Conquest won't be in port long enough to make the trip out to Playa del Carmen or Chichen Itza :( I suppose I could just pose for pictures with the replicas at Chankanaab, my friends won't know the difference (but I will).
