jerrytammy0721 Posted June 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2009 Can anyone recommend a hotel near the port in Ft Lauderdale that allows free parking for the week? We stayed near Port Canaveral on our last cruise and used the Radisson and had a good experience with shuttles and leaving the vehicle. Thanks! spunkie4 Posted June 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2009 we've used the Hampton Inn in Ft. Lauderdale. It's just a few miles from the terminal. They have a minimal fee for parking, but provide transportation to and from the terminal. Only stayed there one time. since then, we just drive down the same day (it's about 6 hours from Macclenny) and park at the cruise terminal. Although it's expensive parking at the terminal, the car is there for us when we return. the one time we used the Hampton Inn transportation, we waited over an hour for the van when we returned to Ft. Lauderdale. Shirley
NSAHO79 Posted June 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2009 Hi there, Our TA has booked us into the Hampton Inn (Plantation) which says it has a free hot breakfast, free shuttle to/from airport and cruise ship and free parking. I am not sure if that means free parking if you are on the cruise. My TA has a special rate for this hotel as well. Good luck.

Although not as close as the Hampton Inn Airport this is a very nice hotel. It is right across the street from the large mall so if you need something to do it's a great place to walk around, and heck spend a little money while you're at it! In March we had to the van to the port all to ourselves. On the way back we just grabbed a cab back to the hotel as we wanted to get on the road home asap. royalcruz Posted June 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2009 What mall is it across from? It is by Broward Mall. Anchor stores are Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenny's, and Sears. It is a typical suburban mall. There is also a large shopping center, the Fountains, that has Old Navy and Marshall's, and several restaurants.
