loudjazz Posted June 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I managed to post this on the wrong board originally, oooops. There is a company called PRONTOBUS based in Abruzzo who have a bus service to Civitavecchia from Pescara on the Adriatic coast for 35 euro p.p. I thought it may suit people who wanted to spend time by the seaside 'Italian style' before their cruise (me!:)) Free for kids up to 18 travelling with parents and going on a cruise. there are 3 x bus a day in Summer. The bus also stops at Fiumicino on the way back, even though they do not have fares just to Fiumicino a ticket to the first stop after the airport is Avezzano (or Aquila depending which bus) at 25 euro. I am wondering if one could pay that fare then just get off at the airport stop anyway? I emailed them asking if they had fares Fiumicino-Civitavecchia but they didn't. Who knows if many C.C members were to ask the same question a penny dropped and they started offering the service! ahem. true to Italian style the website is pretty rubbish - there are 2 links for the Civitavecchia bus. http://www.pescaraffari.com/PRONTO_BUS/ Anyone wanting info on the charms of Pescara drop me a line. Retired Banker Posted June 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2009 My wife and I arrived in CV via train from Rome. It was early in the day, around 11 or so. Our ship was scheduled to leave at 3. To our surprise there were no cabs aavailable. In the future I will arrange for limo transportation directly to the ship.:)
