margord Posted June 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2009 Has anyone ever stayed at this hotel? Is it in a good location? Did you like the hotel? Any other information? Marilee

davejohn Posted June 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2009 We stayed there for a total of 5 nights 2 years ago. It's a very nice old style hotel in a great location for walking to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, and several other spots. The St. James tube station is very close and it's easy to get around via the underground. If you plan to stay there a few days, buy an Oyster card to use the underground. It's a lot cheaper. The concierge at the hotel can give you maps, directions, and tell you all about the Oyster card and where to get it. We bought it at the newsstand next to the hotel. One of the places I like to stay as other's have posted...really nice location etc.The concierge can really help you with anything you want to do re tours whether DIY or an Evans and Evans etc.Lots of choices there. The St.James tube station is a short walk right across from New Scotland Yard. You can walk to a lot of the sights right from the hotel as well.Enjoy. davejohn Posted June 20, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 20, 2009 One more question, is it air conditioned? Yes, although we were there in May and didn't need it. We were comfortable just with an open window.
