Belize Taxis

Looking for safe taxi to hire in Belize. We want to go to the Belize Zoo. The tours, non ship and ship are 60.00 to 65.00. They do include other stops and not alot of time at the zoo. We just want to go to the zoo. It is about 30 miles from the cruise port and a taxi ride round trip may be pretty costly. Checking out this option before booking with a tour because we would like to spend more time at the zoo than any of the tours offer.

Read my post in answer to "Where to take a taxi" below. For private taxi/guide, we pay $20/US an hour. If there are several people in your group at 60-65US/each, you could have the taxi for quite a few hours and spend plenty of time at the zoo. Most of the private drivers have vans with A/C and are always very clean and friendly. Have a great time.
