sportsmum Posted June 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2009 When looking at the deck plans for the Volendam it looks like there is an aft deck on the Dolphin deck. Does anyone know if that is outside? Can it be used by passengers? Thanks for any help.
Jemima Posted June 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2009 No, you can't on the dolphin rear deck. That is a crew work area. You can go out on the rear deck on main which is one deck up. That outside deck (main rear) is small so you wouldn't want to spend much time there. Also you get fumes especially when leaving a port.
jtl513 Posted June 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2009 In general, unlabeled white space on the deck plans is for crew only, and passenger-accessible outside decks are "lined", like the Main stern. On the Volendam Dolphin stern, those funny little symbols denote winches for mooring lines, etc. There may be some that come on here and say "We went out there to smoke and crew saw us and no one said anything" (etc), but they ignored signs prohibiting it, and if they had gotten hurt out there the cruise line would have had a good case to not pay anything! :D
sportsmum Posted June 20, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 20, 2009 Thanks. I didn't know if it was one of those 'secret' decks or not. I appreciate the replies.
