ShipOFools Posted June 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Do the ships like Norwegian Pearl keep the same time as the ports when in Alaska? We sailed the Jewel this past Spring and the ship sometimes had different time than the ports in the Caribbean.
RoofingPrincess Posted June 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2009 When we were on the Serenade to Alaska, ship's time changed twice. One to gain an hour on the way up to Juneau, and then once to lose it on the way back to Vancouver. I've had ships change their time in the Caribbean, and ships which stayed on their own time regardless of what local time was. Best is to always wear a watch that's on ship's time (whatever that may be) when leaving the ship.

chachi Posted June 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2009 our ships always changed to whatever the port time was. Ours too. I went on a Mexican Riveria cruise and it seemed like the time kept changing. I went to dinner an hour early! An announcement comes on when the time changes, but apparently I missed it! Yes, in Alaska the ship's time and the port's time are the same.
