After check-in can you leave ship?

We are doing the Barcelona to Venice Celebrity Summit cruise on 7th September. Wondering if after we check in on the ship at Barcelona port and have dropped luggage in stateroom if you can leave the ship for a few hours.

There's a shuttle bus for a cost of about 3 Euros that picks up passengers at each ship and drops passengers off at the foot of Las Ramblas. Watch out for pickpockets, they are the scourge of Barcelona (and many European cities). Someone on board will have their belongings "lifted" on every cruise.

Thanks so much Barbels and Xellent for the info :) I love this board, so many wonderful, helpful people, you learn so much. Yes I was just reading about Naples and I knew about Barcelona for pickpockets.

Yes, I can second the warning on pickpockets in Barcelona. My wife had her wallet lifted from her purse there while shopping. She got her drivers license back over a year later through the American Embassy.
