Looking for good snorkeling

back to the islands

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of doing the Barrier Reef snorkel with Carnival which I think is near Rum Point or just going up to Cemetary Beach to snorkel, stopping by Sea Grape on the way back. Any thoughts or help? I'm into snorkeling and beaches, but don't really want to do the rays. I've read Eden Rock is good, too, but would prefer a beach with my snorkeling, if it's still good. Thanks!

I was at Sea Grape Beach in March and there was not very good snorkeling. I think many of the reefs along that beach have been damaged. We floated around just off shore and saw a few fish, but the ocean was all churned up that day so it was hard to see anything.

It would definitely be cheaper to do Cemetery Beach and it is a beautiful uncrowded beach with very good snorkeling. You do have to swim out a ways to get to the reef but we thought it was worth it. We didn't have snorkel vests so we took some small blowup rafts from the dollar store and took turns resting on them when we got tired. There are no facilities there but Sea Grape is not very far down the beach.

I hope this helps!

Enjoy!
