jan52938 Posted November 3, 2010 #26 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Nautica docks at berth E2, just a block from the night market. From Keelung you can take a metered taxi, or a tourist taxi from the Keelung Harbor Bureau to Taipei, a 35-45 minute ride. There is a volunteer tourist information desk in the building. Cost of a taxi is about US $20, very little English spoken. Train and intercity bus are another and cheaper option to mix with the locals. In all cases show your destinations on a map, or have the address written in Mandarin. You'll find the Taiwanese eager to help you find your way. 2kiwis Posted November 4, 2010 #27 Share Posted November 4, 2010 We did this trip at the beginning of the year We organised several trips for 6- 8 people on cruise critic and had a wonderful time We had a fantastic 3 day tour with Michael in Bangkok (bangkokprivatetour@hotmail.com – can thoroughly recommend his service. Throughout Vietnam we used SMILES TOURS (:info@smiletoursvietnam.com) who were so professional and provided an excellent service everywhere. In Shanghai we hired a private guide (Leigh = lee_gong@126.com) and 8 of us went with her for two wonderful days. Everywhere else we took taxi’s or trains and did it with another couple or on our own. We also organised a 12 seater bus for 6 of us and our luggage into Beijing which was much cheaper then Oceania or a taxi and they took us to each of our hotels. Excellent service = beijing xinhua tours email: beijing@tour-beijing.com One major problem we had was in Hong Kong where we were tendered in the harbour and had to use local tender which were shocking. At many times they were down-right dangerous as the water was really choppy and the tender bounced up and down and a lot of people had trouble getting off them. Hopefully you will be docked as it was an awful experience. Anyway - it is a great trip = enjoy !!!
