Mariner of the Sea in late September, questions

Hi this is our first cruise on the ship and we are so excited. Has anyone sailed to Mexico on her/ Also we booked a promanade room and wonder if others can share their experience with this kind of roo. We are on deck 8, is this a good location (pretty much in the center and two cabins from the elevator). Any and all suggestions about ports of call and excursions would be great.
