pjpurple6 Posted June 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2009 Would a 11 Am flight out of MCO be too early and risky if I did the self disembark? Any one lately just getting off the ship have any knowledge of the times with first ones off? Thank You.
croozcr8zy Posted June 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2009 We did FOS for New Years this past year. Flight at 8:40am. We were first in line for self disembark (we lined up at 5:30am, we waited about an hour) . Got in taxi and at airport by 7:15am.
ken_nyc Posted June 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2009 Just remember the ship does not always clear customs right away...sometimes delayed...approx. 45 minutes from port to airport. You have to be checked in at least 45 minutes before domestic flights.

Freedom sailed out of Miami last New Year... now out of Canaveral and the Orlando airport is much further away than MIA is to the Miami Port. massfriends Posted June 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2009 We cruised Freedom out of Port Canaveral on May 4th and returned on May 10th. Self disembark started at 6:15 AM.... You should be OK! It's about 45 mins. to an hour to get to Orlando airport.
Gonzo70 Posted June 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2009 If your ship arrives on time and there is not a significant delay in clearing customs you should have plenty of time. You have some wiggle room in case of delays, but be aware that sometimes ships can arrive later than scheduled and (more commonly) customs can take a long time to clear a ship to begin debarking. I personally might consider this option if the next flight was much more expensive, but would be more comfortable with an early afternoon flight. pjpurple6 Posted June 29, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted June 29, 2009 Thanks, yes 11am flight was a lot less expensive than the later flights which I would do to be on the safe side.
