FOS Self Embark early flight

Recommended Posts

Just remember the ship does not always clear customs right away...sometimes delayed...approx. 45 minutes from port to airport. You have to be checked in at least 45 minutes before domestic flights.

We did FOS for New Years this past year. Flight at 8:40am. We were first in line for self disembark (we lined up at 5:30am, we waited about an hour) . Got in taxi and at airport by 7:15am.

Freedom sailed out of Miami last New Year... now out of Canaveral and the Orlando airport is much further away than MIA is to the Miami Port.

If your ship arrives on time and there is not a significant delay in clearing customs you should have plenty of time. You have some wiggle room in case of delays, but be aware that sometimes ships can arrive later than scheduled and (more commonly) customs can take a long time to clear a ship to begin debarking. I personally might consider this option if the next flight was much more expensive, but would be more comfortable with an early afternoon flight.
