lauren0309 Posted December 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2004 I will be going on the Enchantment February 19th. Does anyone have copies of the menu for the 5 night cruise? This way I can get an idea what to look forward to!
Chicagomom Posted December 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2004 My daughter took pictures of a couple of the dinner menus--the first night, and the second night (formal night) and I've copied down what I can read on them. This was from October 30th and 31st, 2004. Breads (each night they offered two breads): Sourdough Bread Whole Wheat and Honey Rolls Appetizers: Citrus Fiesta Smoked Fish Dip Vidalia Onion Tart (highly recommended) Tuscan Tomato Soup Chicken Consomme Watermelon Gazpacho (very good except for the green onions floating on top) Salad: Spinach Salad Entrees: Shrimp Ravioli Royal Fillet of Cod (and a second supposedly even healthier version--usually omitted the potato side) Chicken Philadelphia Slow Roasted Rib Eye Vegetable Kabob Daily Alternatives: Traditional Caesar Salad Fettucine with Marinara Sauce Broiled Fillet Norwegian something (sorry, it got cut off on the picture) Grilled Chicken Breast Grilled Steak with something (again, cut off) Baked Potato, Mashed Potatoes Vegetable of the day Here's the formal night menu: Rye Bread, Vegetable Rolls Grilled Marinated Vegetables Shrimp Cocktail (very good) Escargots Bourguignonne (very good) Lobster Bisque Oxtail Broth Chilled Golden Pear Nectar (excellent) Traditional Caesar Salad Tagliatelle (a chicken and pasta dish with a creamy cajun-style sauce) Teriyaki Glazed Salmon (and a healthier version) Duck a L'Orange (my daughter had this and thought it was very good) Beef Tenderloin (most of us had this--see note below on steaks) Vegetable Strudel Doesn't that get your mouth watering? The food was all very good except they didn't know how to grill a steak the way you asked, and the quality of the meat varied greatly. So if you order steak, your chances of getting a good cut and cooked your way aren't very good--but we continued to order steaks anyway. :) Desserts were a separate menu and unfortunately we don't have copies of those, but the desserts were excellent! Warm chocolate cake was one of the best.

TheWog Posted December 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2004 I know this doesn't help with the menus, but it does contain the Compass for each day of a five night cruise (Jamaica/Grand Cayman). http://community.webshots.com/user/kimbo041562

RedSoxWon Posted December 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 20, 2004 Let's see what I can remember from our November Enchantment sailing. The food on board was all very good (except for the breakfast buffet and the food in the Solarium) and the waiters were very amenable to special requests. Don't be afraid to order two appetizers or two entrees if you can't make up your mind. The watermelon gazpacho was very good and we would have bought the RCI cookbook if it had been in there. The steaks were good, but like the above poster said, they really could not customize cooking preferences. Expect everything to be medium. The Duck L'orange was good. Didn't like the lobster bisque, but I'm from New England so I'm very spoiled. the lobster was good, but not very filling. I'm glad I decided to order two entrees that night. I also had the Jamaican jerk chicken which was very good. I thought the desserts were only average, but yet I still managed to eat one every night. I wish I had tried the cheese and port wine option. I just forgot. I post again if I can remember more details.
lauren0309 Posted December 20, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted December 20, 2004 to The Wog: Thanks for the compasses. I usually bring my yellow highliter and we mark what we want to do aboard. Now I can see in advance to get an idea of what is going on. Lauren
