You mention Punch bowl cementry. We wish to go there and tried to find if we can do it by public transport. Just in Honolulu before cruising back home to Australia. Seen and done most of the activities in other past trips.

Another fun Oahu activity...how about a shark encouter? We used Hawaii Shark Encounters in Haleiwa on the north shore. This is something even a non-swimmer could participate in (take the early morning trip when the water is a bit calmer). You could combine this with a visit to the shrimp trucks for lunch, or Mai Tais at Turtle Bay, or a stop at the Dole Plantation for pineapple soft serve (or all of the above!)

I was actually looking into doing this! It looks awesome but I was scared since I don't swim, I might not be able to do it.

Also, what is the the punch bowl cementary? I have never heard of it?

Actually, the shark cage is right next to the boat, so if you are able to climb down a short ladder and float with a life vest, you would probably be fine. Also, they feed the sharks at the back of the boat, and they come right up out of the water, so you can get wonderful looks at them without even putting on a bathing suit!

I think I will have to learn to swim first lol :p! That is something the hubby wants to learn to do. I will watch from the shore.

 

My two cents worth. Kauai is the most beautiful of all the islands. It has more sand beaches than all the other islands put together, this because it is the oldest island. You want to see the Waimea Canyon. Mark Twain called it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. There are hundreds of waterfalls all over the island. As far as surf, some of the worlds best surfers come from Kauai's North Shore. An don't forget the Napali Coast, with the tallest sea cliffs in the world.
