Mt. Etna in Summer

We are going to Mt. Etna in August. Do we really need long pants, jackets and sunglasses to protect our eyes from sand? Thanks!

Based on a springtime visit (April) I would say yes if you plan to go to the summit. It was bitter cold and very windy, winter parkas were needed. You can rent parkas at the base station before boarding the all terrain vehicles.
