Friscorays Posted July 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2009 We'll be visiting some of the same sites over the holidays on the Oceania Regatta. www.divebvi.org lists the dive options for Tortola. I decided on www.divetortola.com as they will be able to accomodate my snorkeling wife. It is a short cab ride from the dock. In St Lucia, I went with www.islanddiversstlucia.com , as my wife can snorkel at the Ti Kaye resort and have a massage while I scuba. They pick you up at the dock and transfer you by boat to the resort and dive center. Dive Fair Helen is another option. In Dominica, we are diving and snorkeling with http://www.natureislanddive.com/index.html . They pick you up at the dock and drive you twenty minutes to the dive center. Other options include Dive Dominica and Al Dive. For Samana (we visit there next February) and Antigua, I am still investigating options. I understand that Antigua may not have all that many diving centers but I have been looking at http://www.seawolfdivingschool.com/ . The down side is that it looks like a pretty far distance to the port so we might just end up doing an Island tour. Your other stops I can't help with but www.scubaboard.com also has a lot of useful info. Let us know who you decide on and how it goes. w&k Posted July 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2009 HI ALL,WE'RE ON THE SEA PRINCESS AT XMAS FOR SAMANA, TORTOLA, ST KITTS, ANTIGUA, DOMINICA, BARBADOS, ST LUCIA, TRINDAD GRENADA BONAIRE AND ARUBA...CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND DIVE CENTRES AND DIVES CLOSE TO THE PORTS....PLEASE!?? THANK YOU TD:o Tricky Diggy- In St. Kitts we dive with Kenneth, Vajai and the crew at Kenneth's Dive Center - their dive boat is on the same dock as the cruise ship - about a 5 minute walk off the ship. http://www.kennethsdivecenter.com/ In Aruba, we dive with Clive at Dive Aruba. http://www.divearuba.com Clive picks you up just outside the port gate. We have been diving with Kenneth & Vajai in St. Kitts, and Clive in Aruba for several years, and have always had a great time. Tell them Wendy and Keith from Florida sent you, and they will let you come out diving with them anyway. ;) In Dominica, I absolutely agree with Nature Island Dive if you are docking in Roseau - Karen will get you all set up. http://www.natureislanddive.com However, if you are docking in Cabrits at the north end of the island, contact Helen at Cabrits Dive. http://www.cabritsdive.com/ Both ops will pick you up at the port, and both are great, with some fabulous diving. In Barbados, we have been out several times with John Moore of Dive Barbados. http://www.divebarbados.net/ We have been out with John on his own small boat off the west side, and John is also staff at The Dive Shop Ltd. on the east side, for the best of both worlds. http://www.divebds.com/ In Antigua, we had no dive and a VERY bad experience with a shop, and it appears that their website is no longer online (good news). More details are on my website. In St. Lucia, we went with the ship's dive at Scuba St. Lucia because we had an odd port time. They were OK, but pretty pricey for short, follow the leader, time limit diving. Island Divers and Dive Fair Helen both get good reviews on here if your port times permit. If not, take an island tour with Cosol or Frank. We were supposed to dive in Grenada with Aquanauts Grenada, but I had some scallops that were not quite right the night before and ended up driving the porcelain bus instead of diving the island. http://www.aquanautsgrenada.com/ I found that Trinidad did not have good diving available (that's on Tobago), and organized a great tour of the Island instead with Andrew at Banwari tours. http://www.banwari.com Have a great time!
