Downtown Anchorage Restaurants

is there even like, mcdonald's or something? or a late night grocery? i'd do room service as a last resort, but likely will be in a place that doen't have it. i think i'm trying priceline in the next few days. what i'd really like to get is some fresh fruit and a costco chicken, but not possible at that hour.

so, how much is a chicken at costco in alaska? i know in hawaii it was the same as here - $4.99.

Downtown there isn't any fast food restaurants. There is a Burger King in the 5th Avenue Mall but it would be closed that late.

The closest market would be New Sagaya's City Market and that would also be closed.

Sorry can't think of anything else that would be open. Can't help on the Costco chicken either as I haven't bought one so I don't know what it's currently going for.

I would have said Glacier Brewhouse too, until I read what the second poster wrote...sorry...can't scroll back to name. the brewhouse was good, but no view. If I am going to sit down, and have a socialable time with friends and family and pay for a meal that is served to me, that is not cheap, I want a view to go with it. If I go again, I will take her suggestion with me. Love the views...in Vancouver check out Aqua Riva..

Would reservations be recommended for Glacier Brewhouse at lunch time?

With all the extra people in town, plus those that work downtown that go, you might want to consider it or you could possibly have to wait. You just never know what the flow for the day will be!

Okay please remember I have no financial interests in Simon & Seafort's but just wanted to let you know that last week I got an email from them (I belong to their dining club) and that they have put back their 1/2 price appetizer happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close in the Saloon (bar).

They had actually taken off the 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 1st but guess business is down (that's what has been reported both in the local newspaper and TV news for May & June) so it's back on. I even called to verify and sure enough it's now on their website. My Mom's coming up soon so I told her and her comment was "She can see a few Simon nights in her future":D

Shoot we just order a few appetizers and some of the $4 pomengrate margaritas and we're set for dinner for the evening.
