Cabbage Beach

I keep reading reviews about Cabbage Beach in Nassau. Anyone done this beach on your own, by taking a taxi over there? Is it easy to get a taxi back to the ship? I don't really care to buy an all day pass to Atlantis.

Done cabbage beach many times . Taxi will get you there .

But we usually just walk down and cross over to Atlantis to get a taxi.

I like to walk to burn off some of that boat food ;).

Plenty of taxis at cabbage beach though.

We went there once.

The beach is pretty good. But no vendors out at all! Couldn't get a drink anywhere and I walked up and down the beach awhile looking.

There are plenty of cabs to take you back, but we had to wait out in the hot sun for 20-30 mins. The cabs were lined up but didn't want to take just two people. Someone finally took pity on us and gave us a ride.

I asked the cabbie about lack of services and he said since there was only one ship in port, the people don't feel it's worth their time.

This is why I now stay on the ship in Nassau. I really enjoy it a whole lot more!

We took a water taxi over to Paradise Island (you can get some great shots of the ships at dock this way) and it is cheap ($6 RT). Then we walked to Cabbage Beach from there (be warned though, it's about half a mile or so from the water taxi dock). Here are some pics taken last time we were there:

Just got back on Fri. Went to Cabbage beach. Our son did parasailing ($60). $4 each way pp by taxi. There were 4 ships in that day so no problem getting a taxi. Walked over to Atlantis just to walk around afterwards. Beautiful. Came out of Cabbage beach took a right and walked about 3 minutes and into "a part" of Atlantis and just kept following casino signs but were inside (ac) and used the bathrooms to change. Got a taxi when we got outside no problem.
