Chrisknowsbest Posted July 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2009 Why on the Freedom class of ships are the Oceanview cabins less expensive on deck 2 versus deck 3? Are the cabins smaller, or is the view not as good?
aquatot11 Posted July 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2009 A generalization - prices go up the higher up on the ship. You are closer to the public rooms/pool higher up so you pay more for the convenience. However, you feel less motion the lower you are. Skeetercat Posted July 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2009 We debated with booking an OV on either deck 2 or 3 and ended up booking on deck 3 since it is closer to the Promenade deck and there are less cabins on this deck. Does anyone have any pictures or opinions on the quad OV on deck 3 or deck 2?? We are in a connecting room. Thanks.
Rare printingchick Posted July 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2009 We were on deck 2 in an OV cabin on the Freedom of the Seas. Deck 2 is generally less expensive and I couldn't see paying extra to go up one deck. Also, on deck 2, you ONLY have cabins above you. There are some public areas on deck 4, so you should check the deck plans when booking on deck 3 to be sure you're not directly under a noisy location. That said, we did pay the extra $10 to upgrade to deck 3 for our upcoming Serenade cruise. On the smaller Serenade, the majority of deck 2 is crew cabins. I thought that might be more noisy, so we moved up a level. However, we generally book OV Deck 2 for savings. Cabins are identical.
Chrisknowsbest Posted July 15, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted July 15, 2009 On the Serenade of the Seas the porthole is much smaller on deck two than on deck three, and I wasn't sure if it was the same on the Liberty of the Seas
