lovintravelin Posted July 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2009 So, if the ship says they are in port at 7:00 am, is that 7:00 Cayman time or ship's time. Is there a time difference the entire year? We want to go with NativeWay, but concerned about getting back on time. They say the tour ends at 2:15, would that be 1:15 ship's time or does the ship's time adjust to the time change? I'm so confused! Thanks for your help!
mstery56 Posted July 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2009 I don't know what ship you're on so I don't know what your ship's time is. The email confirmation I got from Nativeway clearly says Central Time which is the same as ship's time for me. I would start by looking at your email confirmation. If it doesn't specify, I would email and ask. Hope you have a great time. I'm really looking forward to this excursion. :)
ekermit Posted July 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2009 We're sailing out of Tampa and the only tour with Nativeway we can take is the Stingray city, coral reef and starfish snorkle. All the others get back after the ship sails. They will email you a confirmation with the ship times vs the port times and will let you know whether or not you can do the excursion. lovintravelin Posted July 15, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted July 15, 2009 We are on the Conquest, which is central time. Nativeway's website gives times in Eastern time zone.

You will be on the same time as the Caymans don't recognize daylight saving time.
tdjt05 Posted July 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2009 You will be on the same time as the Caymans don't recognize daylight saving time. And Cayman time was 1 hour BEHIND ships time.. at least at this time of year... the Legend stayed on eastern time the entire trip. So if they are quoting the times in eastern time you will have to take that into account in your planning
drew sailbum Posted July 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2009 You will be on the same time as the Caymans don't recognize daylight saving time. Exactly! That means Cayman time is the same as Miami time during the winter months. During the summer months Cayman time is the same as Houston time. That would mean that when we dock, ship's time will be say 7:00am, but Cayman time would be 8:ooam. Right? :)
