1partyjan Posted July 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2009 Hi, Could someone please advise me which ports from the following, HAL have shuttle buses available? Tallin Stockholm Helsinki Oslo How much did they charge for using the shuttle? Did you pay on the shuttle or could you purchase the tickets on the ship? Thanks J
Mary Ellen Posted July 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2009 From our experience the shuttles are operated by the port, not the cruise line. Last summer the only one of those ports that offered a shuttle was Helsinki as we were docked an industrial port area. You may be at a different dock in Stockholm, so YMMV there. Oslo we docked very close to the main area, an easy walk there. Taxis were plentiful in Tallin, or one could walk if so inclined.
mom&me_cruising Posted July 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2009 I was on the Baltic cruise at the end of June, and here is the shuttle situation for that trip. Your situation will vary base on which port you are at. Tallin (Old City Harbor) -- no shuttle, but old town is an easy walk away Stockholm (Stadsgarden) -- shuttle bus available $15(?); there are also hop on hop off bus and hop on hop off boat at the cruiseship pier to go to various tourist destinations. The HOHO boat is only about $14, so is a very good deal. Helsinki (West Harbor) -- shuttle to town, $10(?) Oslo (Arkershuskai) -- no shuttle, short walk to City Hall and shopping where you can find public transportation Shuttle ticket purchases were at the bus. I also remembered seeing HOHO buses at all these ports. The shuttle/public transportation information was provided at the port talks and repeated on tv.
