pagalandguy Posted July 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We read that Amtrak is going to put a second Cascades train in the schedule betwen Vancouver and Seattle to begin in August. Has anyone heard what that schedule might be and/or when it might begin? The Amtrak website does not have any info about it yet. I thought maybe some local cruisers may have seen some news about it. The proposed schedule will be one train at approx. 7-8am and another approx. 5-6pm in each direction. The ride itself is about 4 hours long. I haven't heard anything about when service will officially start or when it will be available to book. I myself am anxious!
pagalandguy Posted July 20, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Thanks for the info. I was hoping that the new train would be scheduled so that cruisers docking at 7AM would be able to book travel to Seattle without having to wait all day for the late afternoon train. That apparently will not be possible. Unfortunately I guess the bus is still my only reasonable option. It's too bad because I understand the views from the train are so much better than from the bus. Oh well...
