Flying to port with a 2 year old

I agree on Color Wonder, anything magnetic (Magnadoodle or magnets in a tin), small dollar-store plastic toys, DVD player, and LOTS of snacks. For some reason at age 2, my son was fascinated by finger puppets, so we brought a handful on our trips then.

Board books are great. We had a funny incident flying home from a vacation a couple years ago. They took one of our carry-on backpacks aside at security that had a DVD player, my older DS's Gameboy and my younger DS's toys. I was concerned and ready to blame the gizmos. It turned out there were board books too thick for the X-ray to see through and they had to hand-check them! Who'd have thunk?

Good luck,

I got mine at walmart. If you have a meijer or kmart or target near you. you can go to those places as well. I like the clip board idea for traveling. It comes with 4 small markers and a coloring book and the clip board for 9.00 at Walmart.

Please avoid Markers - unless they are the type that only mark on special paper. Kids like to scribble on anything.. and markers on tray tables and the back of seat does not come off easily.. sometimes not at all.

My last adventure I sat near a child who marked up here territory pretty well, despite the mom's objections.

Just don't bring them. Then you can avoid the problem.. and the tantrum.
