kely53 Posted December 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2004 We will be on the Mariner the week of 1/2/05 and have booked excursions in Jamaica and Grand Caymans. Will there by a time difference between the island time and the ship time? I assume the ship will be eastern standard time. I believe I read a few months ago that they are an hour behind us?? Thanks for you help.... I dont want to miss our excursions!! Karen
twinkletoes4445 Posted December 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2004 In January, island time and ship time are the same. They don't observe daylight savings.... We also went to Cozumel, and ship time was an hour ahead of island time. We were told to leave our watches on ship time. At least this is how it worked when we cruised in January (we left from Miami) when we were on the Triumph. If you were to visit the islands from mid-April through miid-October (or whenever the exact dates are), island time is one hour behind eastern time (for GC and Jamaica).
