superfind Posted July 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2009 We are travelling aboard the MSC Splendida for a cruise round the Med in September. Unfortunately this is only for a week & we would like to extend this if possible. I believe that on many cruise lines, they offer the follow on cruise for a greatly reduced price if there are any vacant cabins. Has anyone had experience of this over the last few months, especially on Splendida's sister ship, Fantasia. We are also staying in the Yacht Club, so I would be most interested if anyone has been offered the YC grade of cabin and for how much. Obviously if we approach MSC about this at the moment they are going to charge us more than probably we would be offered on the ship. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. AmoMondo Posted July 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2009 I haven't but I have read in their magazine that it is their policy not to discount YC cabins. Whether this is what they do in practice remains to be seen.
boca7 Posted July 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2009 In Jan. I was on the Orchestra & asked onboard about staying on & was told it had to be booked with central res. My next cruise onLirica late March, guests told me they were offered a price of $250 ea to stay on & they did, I made a request to stay on & was told no. Luck of the draw.
