Civitavecchia Train to Rome

Hi Everyone-

My partner and I are on the Legend (8/29) from Monte Carlo to Rome. First time on Seabourn, we're die-hard Regent and Silversea fans. I'm sure Seabourn will live up to its reputation and more so.

Need a few questions answered in order to prepare either for a train or private car transfer in Civitavecchia.

-We arrive at 0700 in Civitavecchia, how quickly does Seabourn usually disembark?

-Our flight departs 1220 from Ciampino, we need to take the 0841 train from Civitavecchia, do you think we'll make that departure?

-We've been on 23 cruises, and each disembarkation has been different, hence these questions.

Thanks for any/all input.

-Jim

Dear Jim welcome to Seabourn you will love it.

I would recommend you get a taxi to the airport, the trains can not truly be trusted.

At Rome there is normaly loads of taxis available, and a lot cheaper than booking on the ship. However, if you book on the ship you know your car will be waiting for you, which makes for a better night sleep before you get off.

Enjoy

It is certainly possible to be on time at the airport when:

- you ask for "early disembarkation" at the reception.

(you don't put your luggage in the corridor the last night. Reception will

send someone to help you with the luggage in the morning.)

- use a car for private transportation:

- "romecabs" is very reliable - to book by yourself in advance

or

- ask Seabourn to arrange a car (more expensive).

When you leave the ship at 0730 you will be normally at Ciampino no later than 0830.

I did it last year and leave the ship at 0700 - we arrive at the airport

at 0735 (it was the other Rome-airport --Fiumicino) Ciampino is a little further....

Good luck
