themtbabe Posted July 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Hi all, I see that this is a very helpful board. I am taking the Quick Coach out of Seattle on Saturday for my Alaska cruise. We leave at around 8:30, and will get to the pier at about 1:00. My question is: Should I take an earlier bus, due to the fireworks show later that night? Will the border be backed up? Will it be difficult to navigate traffic in Van? Thank you all! Sarah
ell52 Posted July 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2009 You should be fine. Most of the crowds will be gathering at the beaches and towards the west end of the city away from the downtown core (and cruise terminals).
Urban trekker Posted July 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Buses use a different border crossing than most of the cars and have a special lane just for buses - they have one bus at a time that is processed so unless there are a lot of buses it usually isn't a long wait - every time I have use either Quick Shuttle or the Amtrak bus I have always arrive at my dsestination around the posted time - this company has been doing this run for a number of years so they have a pretty good idea how long it will take and have that factored into the schedule.
