Epic - Eastern or Western Caribbean

We have a deposit on two potential Epic cruises next August and about 5 days to decide between Western or Eastern Caribbean. We have done both on RCL and Princess before but never visited Nassau (Eastern), Roatan or Costa Maya (Western). Can anyone help us make up our minds?

I found Roatan to be very beautiful. I imagine it depends what you like to do. There wasn't much in Costa Maya, they're rebuilding there. Nassau has a nice zoo.

I am not a big fan of Nassau but enjoy Roatan. Keep in mind you will be in Nassau with the even bigger Oasis of the Seas. She will also meet up with the Epic in Cozumel on the Western.

Tempting suggestion dogmatix. I guess with a ship like the Epic, it's more about the onboard experience than the destinations.

On previous cruises we've enjoyed "nature" islands like Dominica more than shopping ports like St. Thomas. Haven't been to Cozumel since just after Hurrican Wilma. Would be nice to see how things look now.
