Our TA advised us to not tip!!!

Recommended Posts

the assistant waiter who got stiffed might be very careful with his money, too.

c'mon, four days' tip (i thought 4-day cruise was mentioned - sorry if i got that wrong) for an assistant waiter???? head waiter????

I am not bashing or flaming the OP - I am expressing my opinion. we're not talking big money here. i never like to see deserving staff members get stiffed - there's no reason good enough IMHO.

Like i said, i hope the OP has a better experience next time.

What would you have suggested they have done? I don't think they wanted to leave a small tip (or not tip some at all). They did not spend the money at the end of the cruise that they had budgeted for another activity so that they could pay the staff something (even if it wasn't the full amt.). They learned a lesson the hard way. Sometimes it happens in life, and you do the best you can in certain situations.

Well said...the OP did the best they could in this situation. I can't believe all the negative comments against the OP.
