ottawagarden Posted July 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2009 We are going to book an NCL hawii cruise for Aug 2010 and wonder if there is a better "side" of the boat to choose? thanks!
sprout76 Posted July 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2009 We chose port side since everyone says it is the best so you can view the Na'pali coast and the lava flow (if there is any) from your balcony.
myrj Posted July 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2009 We did too. But they say the lava flow we will have to be up on deck by the pool..But the coast we should have a great view..Past cruisers correct me if I am wrong..
jackswife Posted July 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2009 We had a port side cabin this past March. We had to be up on deck to see the lava flow, but had a wonderful view of the Napali coast from our balcony. It was wonderful. Of course, when in port you just have a view of the port building. I wouldn't change it though if I had it to do again.

attmomof2 Posted July 26, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2009 for the POA, go portside because of the Napoli coast. it is breathtaking. and, portside gets the full slow view. the captain does make a u-turn at the end of the Napoli Coast so the starboard side sees it but the boat is speeding on out to get back to oahu when this happens. the lava flow is best on the upper decks. when you are in port, the portside view is less than stellar, as you are looking at the dock and generally older buildings, and see people getting on or off the boat. the startboard side has the better view in port as they see the water. katz11 Posted July 26, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2009 You might want to consider an aft balcony at the very back of the ship. After reading so many good reviews of these rooms, I was able to change to one of these cabins. This way, you get the view on both sides. Can't give a review of my own yet, as we don't go until September :).
