Quebec City is a must see in my opinion - and if you can get Montreal in the same itinerary the better.

Glad to hear that since we're doing the 10 day from New York to Quebec City! We're also taking the train to Montreal and spending 2 nights there.

Quebec City would top my list. If you have long enough for a day long excursion, Sydney would be great - drive around the Cabot Trail or visit Fortress Louisbourg.

 

My hometown of Halifax is scenic and has lots to see.

What about dates we need to go as early as possible Aug or Early Sept. any advice

Either would be fine. Our weather is very unpredictable, but September can be gorgeous.
