cruzin23 Posted December 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2004 In their brochure, Carnival says you can bring a "small quantity" of non-alcoholic beverages onboard with you. Does anybody have an idea of how much this would mean? From your experiences, how much soda/juice/water have you been able to bring onboard? Thanks! kajsb Posted December 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2004 Last May, we sailed on the Pride. We brought 2 cases of diet coke and a case of bottled water for two of us, plus a good amount of alcohol. Most of the soda and water were packed in a roll-on ice chest and checked with our other luggage. The alcohol was safely packed in between clothes in our checked suitcases. We had no problems with getting all of this on board.

kajsb Posted December 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2004 Yep, 24 packs! We tend to drink a lot of soda. This sure saved a lot of $$ on our sail and sign card. Here is a picture of the ice chest that we checked as luggage. http://community.webshots.com/photo/150098631/150886200yzMvrV We loaded it without ice. When it arrived at our cabin, we asked the cabin steward for ice. He iced it done twice daily.
cbkozz Posted December 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Did you lock your Ice Chest when you checked it as luggage? Would anyone suggest locking your ice chest? Can you lock your luggage while boarding?
gsb Posted December 27, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Thanks to the Patriot Act.
kajsb Posted December 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 27, 2004 We closed our ice chest with duct tape which would have allowed them easy access. They never opened it. I would not lock anything because that would send up a red flag.
