Warnemunde port (Berlin) Suggestions

Did you do a ship’s tour {to Rostok}, or did you use a private company?
Note that it is a 5 minute walk from the dock to the Warnemunde train station, trains run twice an hour to Rostok (and back) and take half an hour. Both Warnemunde and Rostok have good Tourist Information Centers. IMO no need for a tour company (and NO I don't speak German).

If you want to see what's left of "The Wall", the touristy Checkpoint Charlie (with some guy dressed as a soldier, charging people to take his picture), and the Reichstag, then you should visit Berlin. In my opinion, those would be the only reasons to go and none are very scenic. Otherwise, it's just a big, not-very-attractive city.

Really, there's far more to see than just those places - Museum Island for instance would easily occupy a whole weekend if you have the time and are interested in more than just tourist selfies!

We docked in Warnemunde last June on Azamara Quest. We bought train tickets on line and spent a very enjoyable day in Wismar which is about an hour from Warnemunde via Rostock. This was the same day as the white night and some of the folks who had been to Berlin were complaining that they returned to the ship too late to really enjoy it.

Probably the best sort of thing to do. As far as I'm concerned Berlin and it's surrounds deserve much more than a flying visit. Both Warnemunde and Rostock are just to far away in my view.
