Strange Passport Question

Does anyone recall, do your originals (i.e. birth certificate) come in the mail before your receive your passport? We just got our daughter's birth certificate back, but not her actual passport.

 

I'm assuming it is mailed in 2 separate packages, but I got my passport 15+ years ago, so I honestly don't remember. Hoping someone here has a more current experience.

The passport comes separate from the documents you send with the application. I think my son's came a few days apart from each other. He got his passport first.

Yes, they come in two separate mailings. We got our son's passport before we got back the birth certificate, but within a couple days of each other. I'm sure the passport will be there any day now.

They do come in seperate mailings. My son got his birth certifcate and about 2 days later got the passport card.

Now we just have to wait until October to sail :(.

Just an FYI - they're *supposed* to come separately, but didn't for one of my DD's. I submitted 3 passport applications on the same day. Got back one pass port one one day. The bc for that passport and the bc for another passport two days later. Then the day after that I got the 2nd passport. Then about 4 days after that I got the third passport and bc in the same envelope. The issue date on them differs by more than a week and they were submitted simultaneously!
