austintexasfirsttimer Posted December 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2004 I have never been on a cruise before but I have been watching the message boards for awhile now. My family and I are going to Paradise Beach on Wednesday, December 29th. I have two boys, ages 5 and 7. PB sounds great for us but I have one question: Are there iguanas at Paradise Beach? My kids want to see lots of iguanas and reptiles and other critters. Myself, while I like iguanas, I am looking forward to a massage on the beach as well as the pineapple drinks. Feliz Navidad to all and see you soon!!
solita Posted December 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 25, 2004 Nope, no iguanas. Sorry. But it's a great place dispite that!
CozInsiderJacq Posted December 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2004 If your boys are looking to see Iguanas I can't remember a time where I haven't seen them at Chankanaab Park. It's $12 to get into the park so I wouldn't go there just for that, but there is great snorkeling, dolphins, and more. Your kids will probably have more fun with the water toys at Paradise Beach but if Iguanas are a must see, you may want to make a stop there before or after Paradise Beach. There are only about 5-10 minutes apart by taxi.
oldmedic Posted December 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2004 i agree with the above poster! if you want to see iguanas, go to Chakanaab!! they are all over the place! plus, it is a great place to take the family!!!
CozSally Posted December 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2004 If you want to see iguanas without the $12 Chankanaab fee, take them to the minigolf! There are always a few iguanas hanging around the waterfall, especially on sunny days.

solita Posted December 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Hmmmm....I looked out my kitchen window yesterday (before the norte blew in) and saw 7 iguanas sunning. Was gonna suggest you peak over my wall but it is way too tall anyway! Take Sally's suggestion, Mini Golf and iguanas...sounds like a fun afternoon to me. GolfitoJR Posted December 28, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2004 The iguanas are here at minigolf, but only if it's sunny out. They were hiding all day today (very cool & cloudy), but if there's any sun at all, they'll be out & about.
