Aukland v Devonport

We are currently booked into the Langham hotel in auckland for 4 nights following our cruise in January but have been looking at the Peace and Plenty B&B in Devonport. Which of these two places would you recommend.

We are currently booked into the Langham hotel in auckland for 4 nights following our cruise in January but have been looking at the Peace and Plenty B&B in Devonport. Which of these two places would you recommend.

 

Devonport is beautiful, but it is a suburb of Auckland.

 

You can catch a ferry between Devonport and Auckland central (and many people commute daily for work). The ferry terminal is not far from the place where your ship will dock.

 

It all depends what you want to do. If you want to sight-see around central Auckland, then staying in the city might be better. Likewise, day trips out of Auckland are more accessible from the centre of Auckland.

 

But if you just want to chill out, then Devonport would be fine. You can easily do a day trip into Auckland.

 

I'm sorry that I have no experience of the actual accommodation you mention, so I can't help there.
