sunryz710 Posted August 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2009 I read somewhere that there is only one outlet in the room on the Dawn. We are in category AF. How do people get around this? Should I bring a powerstrip? Any suggestions? Not sure if a powerstrip will blow a fuse.. lol..

billie5 Posted August 2, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2009 I have brought powerstrips in the past, along with an extension cord (so I can get comfortable with my laptop). Now I bring a short split powercord -- same idea as a powerstrip -- and the extension cord. Wouldn't worry about the amperage, unless you are also packing a fridge in your luggage! uppitycats Posted August 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2009 Definitely bring a power strip. NCL ships aren't the only ones with just one outlet in the cabin. I have a relatively small one that I just keep in my suitcase, now.
garycarla Posted August 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Pretty much all ships have one US type outlet. Powerstrip and or extension cord is fine. Blowing a fuse? Only possiblity that I can think of is a high power hair dryer and I would probably plug that directly into the socket. All those other power adapters things take very little current. trishbebears Posted August 5, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 5, 2009 I got a great little surge suppressor at Best Buy. Its made by Belkin & has 3 3-hole outlets & 2 USB ports. It plugs directly in to the outlet. It's 5 in. long, 2 in. high & 1.5 in. wide. It was about $15. I also carry a small 3 outlet power strip. With the USB ports, I can charge cell phone & ipod. I don't bring an extension cord because most laptops have a 3 prong plug and ext. cords only offer 2, unless you get a heavy duty one at a hardware store. My laptop has a pretty long power cord also. I just wish I could charge my cameras batteries by plugging the cameras into the surge suppressor. Trish
