mayrashke Posted December 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2004 If you are going out of the main cruiseship terminal in Vancouver right downtown-the Pan Pacific Hotel is right there. There is another hotel across the street(sorry I can't remember its' name-??Fairmont Waterfront). The Pan Pacific is very pricey. The Hyatt Regency is a very short Taxi ride away and there are lots of others you would also have a short Taxi ride from. Now if you end up going out of Ballantyne Pier-it is about 1-2 miles east of downtown in the Industrial section of the waterfront, you would NOT stay around that area!!!!You will have to taxi there for sure!!! If keeping the price down is important, people have got the Hyatt through Priceline. Check out betterbidding.com and they will probably have lots of info on Vancouver Hotels. Also some other CC people will have good info for you.Isn't there a Vancouver/Canada destination board for more info? Hope you have a good Alaska cruise. NCmom Posted December 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2004 The hotel across the street from Canada Place is the Fairmont. we booked this for our 2003 Alaskan cruise and loved it--we had a suite that we got at an excellent rate by booking a package off the internet that included aquarium tickets, trolley tickets, etc. we loved watching the floatplanes take off and land. There are no hotels near Ballentyne where our ship sailed from--I think it cost us about $15 to take a cab to Ballentyne from Canada Place.
