avriltuohy Posted August 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2009 Hi there We are a family of 3 (we have one 10 year old son) from London and are thinking about doing some port tours with maybe a local firm as it's been recommended as more enjoyable and generally cheaper than taking the organised tours by P&O. Is anyone out there interested in joining up with us to go to Monte Carlo & Cote d'Azur locations and Florence & Rome? I've looked up some bits on the web and you can rent a mini van & English speaking driver in most ports Looking forward to hearing from you! HDPete Posted August 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Hi, We may be interested, although it may not be quite so straight forward & I'll understand if you decline. But, we are a family of 4 with a 6 year old and a 1 year old infant, so we'd need to ensure that there was appropriate child seating in any privately hired car. I'm not sure if your research has been able to establish this or not, but if you are able to find out, then we'd be happy to share any cost. We're keen to get to Rome, but no overly enthralled by the prospect of 90 mins in a densly populated / overpriced coach. Let me know if you're interested. Regards Peter. avriltuohy Posted August 13, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Hi Pete Thanks for the message. I've been up against it with work and had no time to organise anything so far. We will be leaving tomorrow as we have a function this weekend to attend on the Isle of Wight before we join the cruise so I can't get anything sorted. If you want to hook up on the ship we are in cabin B255. This is our first cruise so we have no idea what to expect other than the great recommendations from quite a few people we've met.... Hope you have fun Avril
