Saphhire balcony or mini suite?

We are booking on the Sapphire June 6th cruise. We need two cabins, side by side. My choices are balcony cabins on the higher decks (Lido, Aloha, Baja, Caribe, or mini suites on the Dolphin or Emerald Deck. We've been told that the particians come out to make one larger deck. True? Also, am I assuming right that we want to be starboard (right - odd numbered cabins) as we are travelling north from Seattle to Anchorage and back to Seattle? Should we shoot for mid ship - although D735-737 and E729-731 appear to have larger balconies, but are aft. Any thoughts on any of

these.
