patterson3 Posted August 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Good morning, I was hoping people with experience on Summit (or perhaps other Millenium class ships) could give any tips on good (or bad) cabins?....From pictures it appears that every balcony stateroom on the side of the ship is off-set so if you look directly below you'll be looking at lifeboats instead of the ocean? I'm considering either a 2A balcony cabin or a C1 cabin, but I was wondering what the advantages are to a conceirge cabin, and if it's worth the extra money? (I heard champagne and fruit upon arrival in your stateroom and priority booking?).... Anyway, any and all help is greatly appreciated!
jlijny Posted August 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We just returned on the Summit's 12 nt Med cruise and had Room 8107. We loved the location....exactly mid-ship....which was convenient to all destinations (dining room, theater, casino, etc.). The room was concierge class, which I highly recommend. I have been on Celebrity several times before (oceanview rooms, not cc), and we received the BEST service on this trip. When we boarded, someone not only greeted us with a glass of champagne, they took our hand carried bags, and escorted us to the room. The champagne is customary, but I have never been escorted to my room before. The ammenities are also a nice touch. A bottle of champagne in the room, 2 hairdryers, binoculars, umbrella, upgrade in pillows/bedding and bathrobes and toiletries. Every afternoon at 5:00, our cabin attendant brought a platter of cheese and crackers and a platter of fruit (we didn't like the hor d'ouevres, so he suggested we substitute). Our cabin attendant was OUTSTANDING, and was available at all times. I am sure most of the attendants are great, but I believe that the attendants for the cc class is the same as the suites, and if not, they are very close to being the best. You also get priority embarkment and disembarkment, priority tenders, and priority luggage arrival, which was also great. Our luggage arrived 15 min after we arrived in our room. I am planning an Alaskan trip, and will definitely plan to book Concierge Class. Hope this helps.
