Hallstone Posted August 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2009 I know there are four restaurants on Balmoral. Can you dine in any of these restaurants or if you are allocated the main restaurant can you also dine in the Avon or Spey. Also is there an extra charge for dining in any of the restaurants? Many thanks
Kez100 Posted August 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2009 Evening meals you have at 6.30 or 8.30 as allocated in any of Ballindalloch (large restaurant) or Avon or Spey (smaller and higher up the ship - serve the same food as ballindalloch). You can request a preference for one of these three subject (I think) to availability and the type of ticket you bought (some late savers have restrictions on dining requests). If you want to eat somewhere else in teh evening the only choice is the Palms - an open seating buffet restaurant and you can turn up at anytime during dining hours but may have to wait for a seat if it is busy. Some nights the Palms does Thai or Inidian themed food and they were very popular nights. Both options above are included in the price - no surcharges. For breakfast and lunch it is open seating in all four restaurants. We had lunches in the Palms (buffet) and Ballindalloch (offers lunchtime buffet and waiter served menu). We never ate in Spey or Avon last time but they seemed popular and some tables had awesome views.
