mjbelen Posted May 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2004 We have reserved cabin 9060 on the Radiance for our January 2nd cruise. I saw some photos of the ship last night that cause me concern about our cabin selection. It looks like that if we look straight down from our cabin towards the sea, we will see a roof which looks to cover deck 6. The area of the ship our cabin is located in looks to be indented. Am I seeing things correctly. Would we be better asking for a cabin furthur back? We need a triple and have a cat D1 cabin. Family of 14 Posted May 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Here is a picture I found of this "ledge". Being as high up as Deck 9, I don't think you will be bother by it as much as being lower. justcruzin85374 Posted May 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2004 mjbelen, we had this on our Brillinace cruise and were dissapointed, your cabin 9060 will be above the overhang for the life boats. It does not let you look straight down to the water. The E1 cat. on deck 9 would not have this obstruction. Good luck. Soveriegn 92 E. Caribbean Majesty 95 W. Caribbean Granduer 97 E. bartelbee Posted May 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Cruisingrightalong, Just curious--you mentioned you had a DI aft last week on the Radiance. By any chance, did you have lounge chairs? We had cabin 9256 a few weeks ago and were told by several sources that it was new RCCl policy not to allow them on all balconies, fleetwide. I'd appreciate the info--I'm just doing my research while I compose my letter to RCCL. I want to make sure I have my loungers on my upcoming August cruise. bartelbee Posted May 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Cruisingrightalong, Yes, it does help. Thanks for answering. Ironically enough, we were originally booked in the cabin next to yours, but we switched the reservation in favor of the Caribbean itinerary. Had we stayed with the first booking, we could have saved so much money AND had lounge chairs. Oh well, live and learn. I hope your cruise was wonderful. LCSherwin Posted May 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2004 We cruised the radiance a year ago and had a balcony room. I can't remember the room number, but we were on the 9th deck and we were next to the elevator (gives a slightly larger balcony). Here's a picture I took. You can see the roof below. It didn't bother us at all. Most of the time we were sitting down and looking out. Didn't even notice the deck.
